Good Company Players production of The Pirates of Penzance is a comic high adventure. loaded with snappy tunes, boisterous choruses and parodies of popular operas.
The Pirates of Penzance is a terrifically fun take on the story of the apprentice pirate Frederic, who’s about to mark his 21st birthday, when he can be released from apprenticeship to a band of merry pirates. But no one realizes he was born on Feb. 29 in a leap year, so he’s only had five birthdays. Fate, cruel and funny, intervenes and in the end, pirates, major-generals and lovers live happily ever after. Rated G.
