Shrek the Musical opens this month

Shrek the Musical 2013

shrek face

Good Company Players brings Shrek to Roger Rocka’s on September 19th. The kids will think it’s for them, but grown-ups get the last laugh.  Casting its spell over young and old alike, Shrek the Musical brings everyone’s favorite ogre to hilarious life. When a group of fairy-tale misfits are dumped on his land, Shrek’s quest for peace and quiet requires the help of his newfound ‘friends’. Along the way, he realizes being alone might not be all it’s cracked up to be.

Based on the Dreamworks film, the stage version is full of non-stop laughter, music, and happiness – ever after! (rated PG) Good Company Players’ production of Shrek will be playing at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater from September 19 through November 10. Get your seats by calling 559-266-9494 or 800-371-4747, or buy securely online at our website.

P.S. Children’s dinner-show tickets, for kids 6-15, are just $25 on Thursday and Sunday nights.

WHO DID IT? Curtains2

Oh oh!  Its curtains for Curtains on September 8

Final call for Good Company Players’ diabolically funny production of Curtains at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater! This musical murder mystery is full of hilarious surprises and delightful music. Set in a Boston theater in 1959, the unlikeable and untalented leading lady of a Broadway-bound musical is murdered. Everyone has a motive, no one has an airtight alibi, opening night looms with no one to fill the starring role and the body count is rising!

Star-struck Detective Cioffi must work quickly to solve the mystery — and the show’s artistic problems — before it’s Curtains for them all! Don’t miss this one. Curtains closes September 8th.  Call 559-266-9494 or 800-371-4747, or buy online at our website.

Why no shows at Roger Rocka’s between Sept. 8 and Sept. 19?

Because we’re completely rebuilding the restrooms to get them up to snuff with ADA requirements. It’s a big project and construction crews will be working around the clock to get it done in time. We can’t make the restrooms bigger because our building just won’t stretch, but we are making them a lot better.

During construction the Box Office will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 5:30 and Sunday from 10 to 3 and we’ll be sprucing up other parts of the building. I know some of you will be glad to hear we’re also auditioning chairs with a goal of having new and more comfortable seating by the end of the year.

Oscar Wilde’s classic romantic comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest, has just begun its fun-filled run at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre. This wonderfully witty farce tells the tale of two wealthy young gentlemen, Algernon and Jack, who create false identities to escape their social obligations but quickly find that they must exhaust their creative resources to keep up the facade. To add to the outrageous complications, each one falls in love with the other’s ward and each refuses to give permission to the other because of their deceptive characters.

2nd Space Box Office: 559-266-0660 or 800-371-4747.

Rounding out the 2013 Season
