Aspiring young actresses take on the Depression and Broadway in this wisecracking tribute to the theatre. Mrs. Orcutt’s Boarding House for young ladies is full to the brim with charming, starry-eyed ingénues hoping for their big break in show business.

As the girls come and go through the parlor of the boarding house, their dreams, ambitions, talent — and lack of it — are revealed amidst much laughter and a few tears.  Disappointment, rejection, romance, the lure of Hollywood, and plain old hunger pangs distract some of them from their love of the stage. Which one of them has what it takes to stay the course?

Final chances for Starcatcher magic
The Fresno Bee said, “Maldonado is superb. He offers a performance as the buffoonish villain in the Good Company Players production that is, hands down, my favorite of the versions of the character I’ve seen. (And that includes the off-Broadway version.)”

Kings River Life said, “Starcatcher mashes fantasy, satire, story theatre narration, and variations on our childhood memories into a wild, rollicking evening of theatre.”

Unfortunately, we have to say there little time left to see Peter and the Starcatcher.  The final performance is the Sunday Matinee on May  14.

Get involved with GCP’s Summer Workshops
The All Kids (Ages 8-17) Production Workshop of Damn Yankees! has tons of delightful roles for young actors and is a perfect way for kids to spend their summer. The play offers a hilarious script, delightful score, and an experience young performers will treasure for a lifetime.  Runs May 22–July 3,  M-F, 4:00–6:00 p.m. with the final Performance July 3.

The Theatre Skills Workshop  (Ages 8-17) is a 2-week intensive providing training in dancing, singing, and acting.  Students prepare and perform scenes and musical numbers from upcoming GCP shows, especially those that have roles for young people. Great training and great fun!  Runs July 24–Aug. 4,  M-F,  9:00 a.m. – noon.  Final Performance: Aug. 4 at 12:15
