The Sound of Music at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater

The good news is that Good Company Players’ production of The Sound of Music is a spectacularly good show. The bad news is that it has only a couple more weeks to go. It ends July 15. Here’s what the Fresno Bee’s Donald Munro says about it…
It’s one thing to take a new Broadway show such as “The Drowsy Chaperone” and give it a supremely stellar local production, as Good Company Players did last year.

But in some ways it’s even more impressive when you can take an old classic such as “The Sound of Music” and make it fresh, exciting and, well, downright beautiful. That’s what director Dan Pessano and his stellar cast, production team and crew have done with the current production at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater.

You can read the whole review HERE.

The Sound of Music has been selling out nearly every night so it would be wise to reserve your seats without delay. The box office is open Tuesday through Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. (559) 266-9494.

The “Wild West” takes over the stage at Roger Rocka’s beginning July 19 with Good Company Players’ production of Calamity Jane.” In a first for GCP and Roger Rocka’s, the title role will be played by Special Guest Artist Louise Mandrell.

Wild Bill Hickok has his hands full with the even wilder Calamity Jane in this hilarious western romp. Adapted from the Doris Day film, it’s a musical hoe-down. In the midst of this battle-of- the-sexes are mistaken identities, romantic rivalry and a tomboy transformed by a “Secret Love.” Rated G.

Please note: Several performances of Calamity Jane are already sold out. Reserve your seats by phoning 266-9494 or 800-371-4747.

June 21-August 12
A nice Jewish girl has told her nice Jewish family she’s dating a nice Jewish doctor, but she’s really dating a very WASP young executive. With her parents coming to meet her beau, she hires an actor to play “Dr. Steinberg.” He’s very convincing and her parents fall for him… but will she? Rated PG.

August 16-October 14
Based on the iconic novel by Harper Lee, this powerful play is set in a quiet southern town in the summer of 1935. We see it all through the eyes of young Scout, whose father Atticus goes to court to defend a young black man in spite of threats and hostility from the people he once called friends. Rated PG
