Good Company Players at
Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater

Dear Friends,

We are 45! As we look forward to Good Company Players’ 45th season, I say CONGRATULATIONS  to us and to you. Your support has guaranteed good work, good food and great times.

When I recall the wonderful performances on our stage and the heartwarming moments of celebration shared with an audience of neighbors and friends, I know we have lived our company history well.

Your continued support is our ultimate good review. The curtain is rising on Good Company Players’ 2018 seasons at the 2nd Space Theatre and Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater and it won’t be as much fun without you in your regular seat!”

Only 2 weeks left for a devilishly good time

We’re in the final innings of Good Company Players’ home-run hit, Damn Yankees at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater!.  Counting tonight there are just 7 performances before it closes July 9th .

This musical about our All-American pastime is a perfect way to celebrate the All-American holiday weekend!   Desperate for his team to win the pennant, an obsessed fan strikes a bargain with the devil and becomes the long-ball hitter the Washington Senators need to defeat the Yankees for the pennant. When he realizes that what he really wants is his old life and his true love back, the Devil pulls out all the stops to keep him from triggering an escape clause.

Damn Yankees is funny and fast-moving with endearing characters and iconic songs like “Whatever Lola Wants,” “Heart,” and “Shoeless Joe.”  Rated PG.

Good Company Players brings a jubilant Sister Act to Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater July 13 – Sept. 10   – This feel-good musical is based on the 1992 hit film about an aspiring disco diva who takes refuge in the witness protection program. With a fresh new score by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, and hilarious book by Bill & Cheri Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane, Sister Act is divinely funny.

It’s Christmas Eve, 1977, and a small-time, hard-living nightclub singer is a horrified witness to a murder. Deloris runs to the police and they put her in protective custody in the one place no one would ever think to look for her – a convent. Continually at odds with the cloistered lifestyle and the rigid and judgmental Mother Superior, Deloris finds a welcome distraction in the convent choir. They are dreadful, but she’s determined to give them a makeover and soon the convent starts hoppin’.

The saintly songbirds become all the rage, donations pour in, the media takes notice,… and Deloris’ cover is blown. The gangsters close in, but they never bargained for the power of the Sisterhood! Filled with roof-raising gospel music, lively dancing, and a masterfully comedic cast, Sister Act is a reason to rejoice! Rated PG-13.

It’s laughs galore at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre with Neil Simon’s nutty comedy, FOOLS

Leon Tolchinsky is ecstatic. He’s landed a terrific teaching job in an idyllic Russian hamlet. But when he arrives, he finds villagers sweeping dirt back into their houses, and milking cows upside down to get more cream. The town has been cursed with Chronic Stupidity for 200 years and the townspeople hope Leon can break the spell.

There’s a catch: if he stays for 24 hours and fails to break the curse, he’ll become stupid, too. The trouble is, he wants to stay because he has fallen in love with a girl so stupid that she has only recently learned how to sit down. Filled to the brim with puns, one-liners, and pratfalls, this lighthearted comedy is a silly, frothy night of entertaining tom-foolery.

“The brightest, freshest, funniest, wittiest, warmest and happiest to-dos on Broadway in many a day.” – CBS-TV.  FOOLS runs through August 20 and is rated PG.
