A review:  http://kingsriverlife.com/03/25/south-pacific-on-stage-at-roger-rockas/

This blockbuster musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein III centers around an American nurse stationed in the South Pacific during WWII. When she falls in love with a wealthy and sophisticated French planter and meets his bi-racial children, she must confront the reality of her own prejudice.

With interwoven storylines of a romance between a U.S. lieutenant and young Tonkinese woman and the outrageous antics of lonely, love-starved Seabees, this wonderfully-wrought saga of Americans stationed in a foreign land is as relevant today as when it first took Broadway by storm.  (Rated PG)

The Cripple of Inishmaan opens April 23
at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre

Hollywood is coming to a small village in Ireland and young Billy wants to be in a movie more than anything in the world. This quirky tale by Martin McDonough is set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland and revolves around the real-life visit by filmmaker Robert Flaherty while making the documentary Man of Aran in 1934. Crowded with idiosyncratic characters, this dark comedy unfolds in the great tradition of Irish storytelling; funny, tragic and unforgettable. (Rated PG-13)
