Family Treat at 2nd Space

It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is the perfect holiday treat for the whole family at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre.  This delightful version of the beloved holiday classic, staged as a live radio broadcast, will sweep you back to a time when families all over America gathered around the radio on wintry nights to listen to their favorite programs.

Based on the treasured 1946 movie, the story centers around the idealistic and honorable George Bailey who sacrifices his own dreams for the sake of family and community. When George is suddenly faced with prison and public disgrace because of someone else’s mistake, he contemplates leaping into a river to end his life. The angel assigned to rescue George decides to give him a glimpse of what the world would have been like if George Bailey had never existed. Rated G.

The Will Rogers Follies will
warm your heart this winter

Good Company Players opens this happy, heel kicking salute to an American icon on January 12. 2017.  America’s beloved humorist shares his folksy wit and wisdom in a show-stopping Ziegfeld Follies-style revue.

Will Rogers was uniquely American; a part-Cherokee cowboy from Oklahoma who never finished high school, he went on to become a newspaper columnist, social commentator and the biggest, most popular, most highly paid star of every existing medium of his time – stage, screen, radio and print. Famed for saying, “I never met a man I didn’t like,” the feeling was mutual. The world adored Will Rogers. His good-natured ribbing of politicians, gangsters, celebrities — and himself — was laced with kindness, compassion and honesty.

In a joyous tribute to this American legend, the cast sings and dances up a storm, astounding the audience with one innovative production number after another.   Rated PG.

Hauntingly hilarious

Blithe Spirit kicks off Good Company Players’ 2017 Season at 2nd Space Theatre.  Hoping for a few laughs and some new material for his new book, a novelist invites a medium to a party – and winds up being haunted by his tempestuous first wife!

At first, only he can see the ghost, which they both find highly entertaining. But when his current wife begins to think he’s having a breakdown, and the supernatural pranks grow more malicious, the novelist begs the psychic to return and exorcise the spiteful spirit. When the attempt to send the banshee back to the netherworld fails, a riotous battle-of-the-wives ensues.  Rated PG.

Reserve online at 2ndSpaceTheatre.com or by phone at 559-266-0660 or 800-371-4747.
