Good Company Players brings Tony Award-winning West Side Story to the stage at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater.  Inspired by William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and set in the upper West Side of New York City in the mid-1950’s, West Side Story centers around two rival street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, struggling for control of their neighborhood.

With libretto by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, West Side Story is a timeless look at the tragedy of prejudice and vengeance that haunts the human race. At the core of the show is the story of two lovers trying to find a way to be together—and whether either can survive when hate and ignorance are unwilling to yield.

With one of the most beautiful scores in the history of the American musical,West Side Story is an experience not to be missed.  The score includes “Something’s Coming”, “Maria”, “America”, “Somewhere”, “Tonight”, “Jet Song”, “I Feel Pretty”, “A Boy Like That”, “One Hand, One Heart”, “Gee, Officer Krupke”, and “Cool”.

West Side Story is rated PG and will be on stage at Roger Rocka’s through September 14.  Make your reservations at 559-266-9494 or 800-371-4747, or purchase tickets on-line at this link.
