Review and Preview of All Shook Up
Good Company Players’ production of All Shook Up is filling the house at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater, and with good reason. Here’s a review of the show from Kings River Life.
Shadowlands, a true story set between 1956 and 1960, is the poignant portrait of an unusual love affair between C.S. Lewis, a well known English author and confirmed bachelor, and Joy Davidman, a forthright American writer with an irreverent sense of humor.
As their friendship grows, Joy magically opens Lewis’ world to love and, tragically, to grief when they learn she has cancer. Lewis’ faith in a benevolent God, so confidently expressed throughout his career, is tested to the limit by Joy’s suffering and finally brings them to a place where the simple pleasures take on a heightened meaning.
