The classic thriller Wait Until Dark has only 3 weeks left at GCP’s intimate 2nd Space Theatre. Made famous by the iconic 1967 movie with Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin, Wait Until Dark holds the audience spellbound as a blind young housewife desperately matches wits with two double-dealing con men and their murderous leader. Featuring one of the most frightening moments in theatrical history, this riveting play culminates in an electrifying and deadly confrontation that will have you on the edge of your seat. Rated PG. Final performance is Sunday, April 21st.

Good Company opens LOVE LETTERS
at its 2nd Space Theatre

On April 25th, the Pulitzer Prize winning Love Letters by A. R. Gurney will begin its run at GCP’s wonderfully intimate 2nd Space Theatre at 928 E. Olive. Performed by a rotating cast, this evocative play traces the relationship of Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III through 50 years of correspondence. As the 2nd grade classmates are separated by boarding school, college, war, marriage and politics, they are linked by a bond far stronger than distance and disagreement. Funny, poignant, and romantic, Melissa and Andrew’s story will be all the more fascinating as re-told by four different sets of actors throughout the run of the play. Box Office: 559-266-0660 or 800-371-4747. Rated PG-13.

2nd Space Auditions to be held
on April 13th at 10:00 am

Good Company Players will be casting One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and The Importance of Being Earnest at 2nd Space Theatre at 928 E. Olive, Fresno, CA 93728 on April 13, 2013:

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is Dale Wasserman’s stage adaptation of Ken Kesey’s renowned 1962 novel about a charming and rebellious rogue who fakes insanity so he can serve his prison sentence in a mental hospital instead of at hard labor. He realizes quickly that he has traded prison for a far more controlling institution. Intensely gripping and brimming with complex characters, Cuckoo’s Nest is every actor’s dream.

Oscar Wilde’s famously witty play, The Importance of Being Earnest, was written in 1895 and continues to delight audiences of every era. This “trivial comedy for serious people” is a light-hearted farce, complete with mistaken identities, domineering mamas and very silly young lovers. In short, it is comedy from the hand of a master, and a piece every actor should work on at least once.

Scripts are available for check-out at Good Company Players’ business office until the week of auditions. Call 559-266-0211 for more information, or go to www.gcplayers.com.

With a rollicking score by Lerner & Loewe, Paint Your Wagon tells the tall tale of prospector Ben Rumson who comes West during the Gold Rush with his pretty daughter Jennifer to seek their fortune. With all-time great songs like “I talk To The Trees,” “Wandrin’ Star” and “They Call The Wind Maria,” this G-rated golden nugget of a musical strikes it rich!.

PAINT YOUR WAGON brings us the story of the wandering gold miner in the Old West.

March 21 – May 19

PAINT YOUR WAGON brings us the story of the wandering gold miner in the Old West. Ben Rumson discovers gold, and soon finds a community growing up that bears his name. After much hesitation Ben is finally convinced to send the only woman in Rumson, his daughter Jennifer, east to school. He takes this step too late, though, as Jennifer has already fallen in love with a Mexican miner, Julio.

Jacob Woodling, a Mormon, arrives in town with his two wives. He is prompted to auction his wife Elizabeth to the highest bidder, who is Ben. Some time later Jennifer runs away from school and goes home to find Rumson a poor, busted town. Even Julio has left to look for a lake of gold. Jennifer and Julio are finally reunited. Ben begins to dream, preparing to once again roam after his wand’rin’ star.

The book and lyrics are fresh, imaginative and entertaining in their brightness. The music helps portray the dreaming, hoping, weary, gold bummer who is not certain where he is heading, but who is always ready to paint his wagon and go. Hit songs include I Still See Elisa, I Talk To The Trees, Wand’rin’ Star, Take The Wheels Off The Wagon, They Call The Wind Maria, Another Autumn and Hand Me Down That Can 0′ Beans.

SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar® winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage.

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre — not a handsome prince — shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand…and his name is Shrek.

Full of all-new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!

Good Company Players continues its riotous run of Monty Python’s Spamalot through March 17th. If you haven’t seen it yet, get there! Audiences are having the time of their lives. Based on the hit film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this Broadway smash turns the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table upside-down and inside-out, spoofing everything from monarchies to musicals. GCP’s version features an exuberantly talented cast that will have you helpless with laughter. Rated PG-13. The final performance of SPAMALOT will be at the Sunday Matinee on March 17.

Following Spamalot, Good Company Players offers Paint Your Wagon, which opens March 21st. With a rollicking score by Alan Jay Lerner & Frederick Loewe, Paint Your Wagon tells the tall tale of prospector Ben Rumson who comes West during the Gold Rush with his pretty daughter Jennifer to seek their fortune. When Jennifer discovers gold, the town booms, drawing hundreds of lovable but lawless miners — and no women. Ben must use all his resources to divert the lonely miners’ attention from his blossoming daughter. With all-time great songs like “I talk To The Trees,” “Wandrin’ Star” and “They Call The Wind Maria,” Lerner & Loewe’s golden nugget of a musical strikes it rich! Rated G.

A perfect fit for GCP’s intimate 2nd Space Theatre, the classic thriller Wait Until Dark continues its run through April 21st. Rated PG.

Good Company Players’ Next Auditions

April 13th at 10:00 am at GCP’s 2nd Space Theatre at 928 E. Olive, Fresno, CA 93728.

This “trivial comedy for serious people” is a light-hearted farce, complete with mistaken identities, disapproving mamas and very silly young lovers. In short, it is comedy from the hand of a master, and a piece every actor should work on at least once.
